Who Can Receive the H1N1 Flu Vaccine?

 A vaccine is available to protect the public against the H1N1 virus.  The vaccine is arriving in limited quantities from the Ohio Department of Health.  It is now being distributed to identified priority groups established by the CDC.  Eventually there will be enough vaccine for everyone but at this time due to the limited supply it is only to be distributed to the following priority groups:

 

  • Pregnant Women
  • Caregivers of children 6 months and younger
  • Healthcare workers
  • Children and young adults (6 months to 24 years) 
  • People with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, kidney, heart, and/or lung disease (25 years to 65 years)

 

The H1N1 vaccine is available to the public free of charge in both the flu shot and the flu mist (nasal spray) to eligible participants.  Information sheets on the H1N1 vaccine and are located here:
